Overview
The Company is a full-service, multi-disciplined consulting engineering and design company seeking an Electrical Designer to become an integral part of our team!
You will assist the Project Team by executing design practices, detailed drawings to scale using proper standards, correcting and revising drawings as directed, along with other technical duties.
This position will require the ability to show dimensions, material specifications, and additional information to complete drawings.
Capable of performing some “design” within the discipline.
This position is performed with limited supervision and checking by supervisor.
Responsibilities:
∙ Details drawings to scale using proper dimensions, symbols, material specifications, and additional information to complete drawings per company-specific standards and requirements
∙ Corrects and revises drawings as directed
∙ Capable of walking down and identifying common pieces of equipment and their function ∙ Performs tasks with supervision available to handle difficult problems
∙ Generates bill of materials within discipline
∙ Specifies materials and develops drawings that are well organized with the proper amount of detail
∙ Coordinates multiple sheet projects with an appropriate sheet, section, and detail reference ∙ Able to estimate CAD and field time for various tasks within discipline
∙ Capable of performing design within the discipline and checking designs for appropriate standards and regulations
∙ Requires client contact, business development and marketing
∙ Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
∙ AS in Design field of study or CAD certification with a minimum of 5 years experience ∙ Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD (current vs. earlier versions)
∙ Possess related experience including cable tray and conduit routing, instrumentation installation details, loop sheets, location plans & BOM’s, lighting & grounding, electrical elementary diagrams, panel design, PLC’s, P&ID’s, redlines and markups
∙ Ability to provide field measurements with dimensions
∙ Analytical ability to determine solutions for moderately complex problems ∙ Possess ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
∙ Oral and written communication skills
∙ Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
