Join the Western Outdoor News publishing team as a part-time, in-house production designer!

Western Outdoor Publications — established in 1953 — is seeking a part-time, in-house graphic designer to join our graphic design/production team to help produce a weekly fishing and hunting newspaper in our office in San Clemente. Along with our weekly newspaper, Western Outdoor News also hosts a wide range of fishing events and tournaments throughout the year.

The graphic design/production position primarily consists of creating ads and modifying newspaper page layouts using the program QuarkXpress, along with creating various materials and graphics for WON events and various promotional materials. Photoshop skills are a must, as well as strong familiarity with InDesign and Illustrator. Job candidates must also be willing to train using Quark.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated with keen attention to detail, and the ability to

multitask efficiently and work quickly in a deadline-driven environment to meet

regular deadlines. This position requires the ability to learn and adapt quickly, be willing to receive direction and to work both independently and collaboratively with a team consisting of our editorial, sales and events departments. Positive, willing attitude, team player and the ability to both provide and receive criticism a must.

This position is for 2 to 3 days per week, must be able to work Mondays. All qualified candidates are welcome to apply.
